Mooi appartement
gelegen in de oudste wijk van Cairo met schitterend
uitzicht op de Nijl. Allerlei mogelijkheden
betreffende het openbaar vervoer vlak voor de deur en
in de wijk zelf een metrostation, zodat u in 15
minuten in het centrum van Cairo bent waar als
grootste bezienswaardigheid het Egyptisch Museum ligt.
In de wijk vind u allerlei winkeltjes voor de eerste
levensbehoeften en achter het metrostation ligt de
oudste Koptische kerk van Cairo met het Koptisch
museum.
Vanaf de achterzijde
van het appartement heeft u direct zicht op een
schilderachtige volksbuurt, waar zich veel op straat
afspeelt. Verder is er een zeer ruim dakterras waar
men vrij gebruik van mag maken. Het appartement is
recentelijk helemaal verbouwd en is voorzien van alle
comfort. Er zijn 2 slaapkamers (ruimte voor 4
personen) en de grootste slaapkamer is voorzien van
airconditioning, verder zijn in alle kamers
plafondventilatoren. In de moderne keuken met allerlei
apparatuur staat ook een wasmachine, strijkservice is
in de wijk aanwezig. Eveneens linnengoed voorradig
(geen handdoeken aanwezig).
De huizen zijn gelegen aan de westelijke
oever van de rivier de Nijl en op het eiland Elephantine. Alle huizen
bevinden zich op loopafstand van de ferryboot naar het centrum van de stad
Aswan. In minder dan een kwartier bent u in de stad. Daarnaast zijn er
diverse (historische)bezienswaardigheden: graftombes en tempels uit de
faraotijd, de "onvoltooide obelisk", het St. Simeonklooster uit de 6e eeuw,
het Nubisch museum, de stuwdam die het Nassermeer, het grootste stuwmeer van
Afrika, heeft doen ontstaan etc. etc. Een boottochtje op de rivier de Nijl
is een aanrader, evenals een kamelentocht door de Nubische woestijn.
De huizen zijn schoon en volledig ingericht, met een woonkamer, keuken, een
of meer slaapkamers, een douche of bad, een toilet en warm en koud stromend
water. Het zijn - meestal vrijstaande - woningen van de locale bevolking
zelf, die men verhuurt aan toeristen.
